Everyone eats. By extension, everyone cooks. But not everyone enjoys cooking! Technology could be used to solve this problem.
The real question is whether customers are ready to use their mobile devices (iPhones, iPads) to purchase food. Webvan failed historically, but mostly because the experience of buying groceries on a 56k modem is terrible. But now we have smartphones and tablets, and our online presence is ever-connected — in 2012, will an idea like Webvan be ready for mainstream adoption?

Pre-prepared Meal Services: Suggestions?
Given San Francisco’s excellent food credentials, I’m a little surprised that I’m having trouble finding a service that fits my needs. I’m looking for a place to buy pre-prepared meals, where all the ingredients are prepped and assembled and all I have to do is cook it by following some directions. I’m looking for fresh ingredients that I can keep in the freezer, and ideally the service would deliver.
I have found several personal chef services, but I don’t need someone to come into my kitchen and cook my food for me. I’ve also seen services with either limited delivery options or foods that cannot be kept in the freezer.
Does anyone have any food service recommendations that you could share? I’m trying to eat healthier, but I work long hours and don’t have much time in the evening to cook. And lord knows there’s not enough healthy food within walking distance of ORH.
Thanks very much!
Michael
